When choosing inspiration for my work or my own home, I often find myself gravitating towards cooler colors and different shades of blue. Oddly enough at the moment, most of my home is filled with neutrals and lots of reds and golds. But more about that another time. Anyway, while blue can be very interesting on its own, layering its values and intensities, there’s hardly a more refreshing color combination than blue, green with lots of white and neutrals in between (see what I did there 🙂 )
One of my favorite ways to choose a color palette is from fabrics I love. This one is Langrish Line and has beautiful muted greens and blues with similar values. Blue and green breathe life into this cute but otherwise neutral looking space. And it’s all in the accessories, baby!
Another breakfast corner, the same combination, an even stronger effect!

This beach house living room by one of my favorite designers, Lynn Morgan, has a blank canvas on which blues and greens are layered in the upholstery and accessories.
This eastern inspired entryway is fresh and sophisticated. I love the chinoiserie wallpaper and the asian inspired motifs on garden stools and porcelain bowls separated by creams and whites.
What do you guys think? Feelin’ the freshness? Let me know 🙂
