I have a very chic and eclectic home to share with you today. So many of you already know Carolina Irving’s former Manhattan apartment as it was published a good number of years ago and, if that’s so, I’m sure you won’t mind revisiting it today. Over the years, I’ve been steadily collecting every picture and angle I could find of this home therefore the sources and quality of the images are vastly different. Despite this, we can all appreciate the beauty of her rooms.
The living room used to be one large space that with the help of architect and designer Daniel Romualdez she had sectioned into three distinct spaces – a library / dining room, a living room and bar / entertaining area. Built-in bookshelves act as room dividers, which I love!
Wall-to-wall sisal carpeting, dhurries, a Robert Kime ottoman and Irving’s collection of antique prints as well as her own textiles make the formal architecture come to life…
Although Carolina has since moved on to live in Paris in another, equally chic, apartment many still look up to this spread as timeless inspiration. She needs no introduction, in the world of interior design her textiles are revered by pretty much every designer. Since 2014 she is also the Creative Director for Oscar de la Renta Home while still designing fabrics under her own label, as well as furniture and accessories for Irving & Morrison. Because, as de la Renta put it – “her taste is fabulous!”
