Country Chic

Pouring over gorgeous interiors -favorite pass-time activity- each one pretty and special in its own ways, I find myself  loving the refined country look more and more. It satisfies my need of warmth, comfort and color without being all too precious, all too polished. I know I say this a lot, but this next project could possibly be the most beautiful home in the world… and the good news is a gathered a few pieces in case you’d like to steal the look! 🙂

Cafe Design | The Most Beautiful Home in the World

Sir Evelyn and Lady de Rothschield enlisted the help of Mark Cunningham Inc. to decorate their summer home on Martha’s Vineyard. Though the house is a new build, all architectural details were selected to convey the look of a 19th century country home: antique tiles imported from Italy, reclaimed beams, salvaged hardwood flooring, low bedroom ceilings, multi-paned windows… the list can go on.

As for the interiors, Cunningham chose a blend of antique furnishings in rich wood tones with more modern pieces. The overall vision for this project was to create a casual, serene, beautiful space that reflects the Yankee restraint but at the same time is homey and relaxed.

The color palette consists of mostly wheat and blues, with accents of greenery throughout. Contemporary artwork by Ellsworth Kelly, Richard Diebenkorn, Callum Ines is juxtaposed with 19th century English and Early American pieces.
