Cozy Days by The Fire

On cold days like today, there’s not much to do but bundle up by the fire with a good book and a hot cup of chocolate! And dream of warmer days or just enjoy the snow, if you’re lucky enough to have any…

There are few things I enjoy more in the cold season than a cozy seat by the fire. A part of me wishes the cold away, a part of me enjoys the slower pace. We get to spend more time indoors, my daughter and I cuddle each night while we read our favorite bedtime stories. Somehow it’s easier to be still.

For those of you living nowhere near the tropics, I’m sending much needed thoughts of warmth with some of my favorite fireplace décor. Let’s enjoy Winter for what it is and dream of Spring for what it could be!

The Kitchen McCabe

And since pictures alone are not enough, here is my favorite drink of the season – Italian Hot Chocolate from The Kitchen McCabe. It has some pretty good spice, guaranteed to get you all warmed up! You can find the recipe here  and adjust the amount of spice accordingly (I love cayenne so I always add a dash extra). Let me know how you like it!

I just love a corner sofa like that red one. They are comfortable, it isn’t terrible to have to sit in the corner, and they give you (and somebody else) to stretch out and read a book.

Thank you for leaving a comment, I have been enjoying your blog for quite some time!

I feel the same way, corner sofas are great for lounging and a cool family gathering space. This one in particular is covered in velvet, so tactile and inviting! xo, Eva
