A Country Cottage in the Cotswolds

If you ever dream of one day embracing the country life, this post is for you my dears! Life is full of surprises, at least for Amanda Brooks and her husband, artist Christopher Brooks.

After living the fast paced life of the NYC fashion industry, Barney’s creative director Amanda Brooks decided to take a year off and travel with her family to their summer home in Oxfordshire, England. What was supposed to be a one year adventure, became a complete lifestyle makeover.

The Brooks have been enjoying the English country life for five years now with no signs they’ll ever return to the city.  If you keep scrolling through their charming home in the Cotswolds, you’ll understand why.

The main cottage was built in the 1820s and surrounded by gorgeous gardens previously designed by the world famous Miranda Brooks (Christopher’s first wife). Amanda saved the gardens that have been long neglected and updated the cottage interiors with an eclectic mix of furniture pieces and artwork. There is color, pattern and comfort in every corner.

My personal taste has always revolved around older homes with colorful interiors and rich textures. This charming little cottage  has the perfect dose of both. Every detail reflects the comforts of country living, I could move right in! If you’d like to keep up with Amanda and her life in the country, make sure you follow her Instagram account, where she shares snippets of her home and work.
