Friday Favorites and Happy Holidays!!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s also the craziest, busiest time of the year!! At our house, the stress of ruining Santa is breaking us down… Our five year old still believes in Santa, of course, and since her list is quite voluminous this year (humongous teddy, humongous doll-house… ) we’re a nervous wreck trying to keep her from finding Santa’s presents 🙂

On the work front, I’m wrapping up some fun projects and planning to take the next week off. I’m so looking forward to some peaceful and quiet days at home, then a quick trip to Chicago, followed by a Best Of 2017 design post.  Until then, here’s a list of some great design & foodie finds from around the web. Wishing you all the happiest of holidays!

Gil Schafer’s country home is a masterpiece!! I’ve seen it before but pictures don’t do it justice. Thank you Susanna Salk and Stacey Bewkes for bringing Middlefield that much closer to us with this  video

I’m Ina’s biggest fan, so it didn’t come as a surprise that this recipe is a winner!!! It’s delicious, keeps the cholesterol in check  and most of all, it’s so easy to make, even I can do it!

Mark Sike’s tour of Serena Crawford’s home in Constantia, South Africa is a must see…

And last, I’m fascinated with the story of da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi. Initially attributed to one of Leonardo’s students, it sold for less than a 100 pounds before finally being recognized as a da Vinci by art restorer Dianne Modestini. Here’s a touching description of her work on the painting. Salvator Mundi sold last month for a record-breaking $450 million, making it the most expensive artwork ever auctioned. Christies’ offers us a closer look

 Merry, merry to all!
