Happy Thrifting

Things have been a little crazy around here with lots of projects and not enough time, so today I thought I’d quickly share with you some fun thrift shop finds from around town. By now I guess it doesn’t come as a surprise that I am a sucker for all things kitchen decor: colorful accessories, ironstone, fruit bowls and cups, the whole package so you can imagine my happiness when I found the cutest ceramic chicken ever made! I couldn’t believe it but this same chick has been on my list for some years, ever since I saw it on the set of ¨Hot in Cleveland¨, which makes her that much more special to me 🙂 (I know, we all have our quirks… 🙂 )

And for 1$, how can anyone pass? And just when I thought my trip was already worth it, I found two gorgeous old books, and one of them is a 1944 edition of Whiton’s Elements of Interior Decoration!!! hello?!!!

With a beautifully aged linen cover, I wish all my books looked like that (and for now this pretty baby stays on my night table).

The other book has the very promising title ¨The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady¨, but it is filled with beautiful nature sketches, poems and lady like thoughts 🙂

And how great these pictures could look in golden frames, collaged above a sofa or a table? Ahhh, the possibilities…. Anyway, it’s silly how happy these little things make me!!! Have a great weekend 🙂

P.S: My apologizes to our subscribers,  we are in the process of changing our look and a few test posts were sent out accidentally, in Latin. Please don’t hate me 🙂

The chicken makes a big difference in our kitchen! It gives a cozy feeling and it has her own character.
