Sectional sofas and I have a long time love & hate thing going on. For years I’ve been trying with no luck to find one that is pretty enough, slim enough (to fit our tiny city apartments) and of course, ¨budget-friendly¨ enough. Don’t get me wrong, I do like sectionals, they are comfortable and great for entertaining, movie nights or family hang-outs but I think most of them take up too much real estate and can be quite an eyesore. Unless your living room/family room is Grand Central, you know what I mean 🙂
Above is an example of a gorgeous sectional sofa, proportional with the room’s size.
The sleek back makes this sofa below look less bulky and perfect for a library reading corner.
But if space is indeed a problem and sectionals as above won’t work, a good compromise could be to choose a sofa that looks and feels more like a corner banquette. With an armless, delicate shape, and of course, less seating space, these ¨sectionals¨can be easier to place in smaller spaces and still offer plenty of comfort.
… And of course, you can always go custom with a piece that is tailored specifically for your space, like the ones below.
I could definitely see myself having breakfast in here.
Bay windows are usually trickier to furnish and I love the choice of a custom angled sectional that makes this a cozy corner to read and watch the stars at night!
What about you, friends? Love or hate sectionals?
