I’m down with a cold but wanted to check in and wish you all a pleasant holiday weekend! I’m sure we all need the downtime! Also, I can’t help showing you a gorgeous find in case you’re not on Instagram… I came across this lovely kitchen from a few years ago and realized I still love it down to the last detail. Every six months to a year I go through my inspiration files and trim the ones I no longer find, well… inspiring. It’s always interesting to look at those that stand the test of time! After all, that’s the meaning of good design.
This kitchen in particular has all the ingredients of a classic – rough-hewn beams, light and bright cabinets and a mix of open shelving (with pretty ironstone on display, of course), glass uppers and closed lower cabinets. It strikes my favorite balance of warmth, traditional and modern. The natural woods are used along with metal and glass. The traditional design of the cabinets contrasts with a touch of modern in the pendants and metallic stools. I think it looks perfect! No wonder, as it was inspired by Martha Stewart’s Bedford farmhouse kitchen. I can’t remember the name of the designer (maybe you do and can help me out) but I know it was published in New England Home magazine in 2015.
Anyway… have a lovely Columbus Day weekend!
