Thank you so much for your sweet messages after Thursday’s post! It makes me happy to see that so many of you share my love of English cottages. I’ll make sure to follow up with a second part soon. In the meantime, I wanted to take a moment to welcome new subscribers ( Thank you so much for following along! ) and to share with you a fantastic new book that’s just been released last month – Notes on Decorating, by Markham Roberts, published by Vendome Press.

Roberts’ first book, Decorating the Way I See It, is a wonderful primer on the tangibles of design – floor plans, furniture layouts, color schemes, the importance of art, collections and architecture and is a must-read for anyone who admires his work and is interested in better understanding the design process. His second book picks up where he left off and deals with the intangibles of decorating, those aspects of the process that are highly subjective and non-formulaic, yet equally important – like best practices and client-designer interactions, charm and confidence in the process, letting homes evolve over time…

Notes on Decorating is an Amazon #1 release in the Interior Decorating category and for all the right reasons. There’s something fresh and enticing on every page and every room photographed contains bountiful inspiration you’ll want to return to time and time again. Written purposefully and with charm, the book is both a collection of beautiful imagery and an education, offering rare insight into the working methods of one today’s leading American decorators.

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek! You can get your own copy of Markham Roberts’ Notes on Decorating on Amazon, as well as through select sellers nationwide. Have a great start to your week!

Well, you convinced me. I’m trying to be SO discriminating when it comes to bringing new books in the house. We are tapped out, space-wise, but I guess there is nothing wrong with starting piles of books on the floor!

Eva … I’m so glad you shared this book … I might have missed it. It’s not possible to have too many decor books, but I may come close. Never mind … there’s always room on the shelf. Thanks for the link … this is a must have! xo
